Nursery Set-up

The first step to planting large acreage without importing mass amounts of root stock or seedlings is a start up nursery. This method allows the tree to adjust to its environment. This set up requires a green house and equal shade setting that can produce 4,000 root starts.

After one growth season the 4,000 trees planted can expand to 400,000 root cuttings. This plan is comprehensive to the available nursery space. The main focus of this project is to accommodate root stock needs efficiently, making sure we don’t lose precious root stock. Shipping roots is risky due to the possibility of mold during shipping and nursery production once they arrive on site.

Root production is best done no more than three days after harvesting.
